Jen Soltero
Head coach, founder, and Consultant
I'm Jen Soltero (she/her), a lifelong athlete, coach, mentor, and community leader deeply rooted in the PNW for over 20 years, originally from Tucson, Arizona.
My journey through athletics has been diverse with a primary focus on softball and baseball. From the earliest days of my athletic career, I've been involved as an athlete in all levels of competition, including varsity teams, ASA/USA Gold Teams, and collegiate level Division 1 and II softball teams - William Penn University, Indiana University, and University of North Carolina at Pembroke. In addition to softball, I have played and lettered in high school basketball, volleyball, and collegiate Division II golf, soccer, and track events.
My work ethic, and dedication fueled me every day to fulfill my dream of being able to attend college via an athletic scholarship. I earned high school accolades such as First Team All-City Keno (AZ), Second Team All State(AZ), Hispanic Sports and Academic Player of the Year, and was recognized as Student Athlete of the Year by Congressman Ed Pastor and Congressman Jim Kolbe in Tucson, AZ.
Reflection has taught me none of the above would have been possible without incredible coaches, and mentors that came into my life to guide my athletic journey. These individuals are part of the inspiration that is the very foundation of why I am dedicated to continuing to give back to my community, to our youth, and all future athletes who aspire to achieve their dreams.
Leading teams has been a constant in my life, ranging from being the captain of teams, coaching individual youth and adults, to guiding and training larger groups of over 200 individuals. Accumulating over 25 years of leadership experience in business and athletic environments has led me to fulfill my own dream and start my own athletic operation in the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
Beyond my personal academic and athletic achievements, I've dedicated myself to shaping the community on and off the field. I've organized and led local sports camps for children aged 5-16, led high school softball teams, and youth baseball teams here in Portland, Oregon. All with the desire to cultivate a love for sports and foster skill development in athletes for life. Additionally, I've served as a mentor and advisor for college students at Portland State School of Business, and for adults in the workplace of all levels, guiding and coaching them on their personal growth journey to achieving their goals.
My coaching philosophy is holistic and revolves around nurturing talent both physically, emotionally, and mentally. Every athlete deserves a tailored training to build self-confidence, and support their unique aspirations, on and off the field. I believe fostering a positive environment where empowerment and accountability are at the forefront is key to developing well-rounded athletes with an improved self-esteem and a sound athletic foundation of skill, ethics and integrity.
With a relentless commitment to excellence, a genuine love of the game, and a desire to enhance our community, I look forward to inclusively inspiring and uplifting athletes to achieve their dreams. This is Elite Training NW.
